Overview

This proposal writing capacity building training is aimed to develop competent Human Resource to suffice the growing need of outsourcing proposal writers from the existing market. Writing is more challenging than speaking because speaking is more interactive and both sides can clarify at once if they need more information. Writing limits two way communication therefore it should be precise, lucid and should articulate appropriately what it is aimed to.

Proposals are normally written to approach the donors which should satisfy their needs, demands and objectives they wish to achieve. Sometimes, we approach the donors asking the possibility of getting funds. In both cases, the funding agency needs to know more about our organization, reason behind applying, process, time and funds required to implement the project. Besides knowing the aid environment, it is essential to know the specific needs and demands of donors. It is also necessary to convince them that the problem and issue you want to address is very critical and tell them the consequences of the problem or issue if we do not deal with it.

A successful application depends on the design of a sound project, which addresses social, political, and economic issues of a community. In order to get the project funded, it is important to spell out your needs, plans, and evaluation strategies in a way that allows the potential donor to understand the importance of your project and become interested to fund your project. The proposal you send represents your major opportunity to get your project funded, so it is of crucial importance to learn how to write it in a consistent and effective way.

Purpose

To become able to access to local, national and international funding resources by developing winning project proposals by participants themselves.

  • To increase four levels of understanding: Presentation, Group work, Teach Back and Feedback
  • To know elements, components and structures of proposal writing

Content

Day 1 ·         Elements, Components and Structures of Proposal (cover letter, cover page, contents, abbreviations/acronyms, glossary of terms)

·         Introduction, Background /Context analysis

·         Identification of problem, rationale

·         Vision, Mission, Goal, Objective

Become able to prepare cover letter, cover page, contents, abbreviation /acronyms and glossary of terms and introduction, background/ context
Day 2 ·         Indicators, Stakeholders and Beneficiary mapping

·         Approach, Methodology

·         Objective Vs Activities, Programmes

·         Deliverables and outputs/ outcomes

Understand the importance of understanding stakeholder and prepare objective Vs activities programmes
Day 3 ·         Proposed project team, Sustainability plan

·         Risks and assumptions, and time plan

·         Theory of Change (ToC)

·         Log frame

Be able to prepare sustainability plan, TOC etc.
Day 4 ·         Annex:

·         Budget

·         Key considerations

Be able to understand key consideration points and write Annex and plan budget
Day 5 ·         Technical proposal preparation

·         Financial proposal preparation

Will be able to write technical and financial proposal fluently

 

Training Fees

NRs. 25,000 /- + VAT– includes fee, stationery, training materials, 2 times Tea/ Coffee, one time lunch and training certification.

Group Discount: 10% for 4 and more participants

Cancellation

The cancellation of participation should be informed by July 09, 2018 – 5 pm. If any participant does not appear without any prior cancellation notice, full charge shall be levied on the client.

 

Certificate

Training certificate of participation will be awarded only for those who fully attend the course.
